BEFORE/AFTER "Lifelines"

This is the BEFORE/AFTER of my shot "lifelines".

In my opinion this is an wonderful example for how incredibly useful RAW format is. Its impressive what kind of colors appear if you tweak the white balance just a bit. Especially in this case it wouldnt have been possible to work with that image in such a creative way if I wouldnt have had this in RAW.

How did you do that? First, it's raw format, ok, but... then? Photoshop? I don't know how to use the software, I just play with saturation, brightness, etc, so I'd like to know!
This is impressive!

i'm guessing after white balance correction, a few curve adjustments and high pass then apply gradient map? :)

@Mark: Yeah pretty much, plus some 10 extra steps I dont remember I guess. =)
